Cedar Rapids Eye Care has dedicated and hard working staff that are ready and willing to help you in any way possible with your eye health needs!  Our staff includes specialists in scheduling, insurance and billing, frames and lens styles, contact lenses, and eye health testing.

Laura -- Employee Manager, Insurance & Billing Specialist

Laura Jackman is the Staff Manager and Insurance & Billing Specialist at Cedar Rapids Eye Care.  She also oversees the computer system and the "go to" person in the office.  She joined the practice in 2007 as a patient coordinator.  Her previous experience includes administrative assistant, computer technical assistant, real estate agent, and restaurant/bar management.  Laura was born and raised in Cedar Rapids.  She first worked in this office as a teenager when her father, Dr. Richard Hill, was with the practice in downtown Cedar Rapids.  Laura is married to Brent and they have a daughter, Piper.  

Denise - Optical Manager

Denise joined our staff as Optical Manager in 2007.  Having already acquired 24 years of experience as an optician, frame stylist and doctors’ assistant, she came to our team as an exceptionally qualified leader.  Denise, then, achieved her ABO (American Board of Opticians) certification in 2008.  When not at work she enjoys spending time with her children and their  families, including all nine grandchildren!  Her hobbies include cake decorating, music, gardening and reading.

Jean - Patient Coordinator

Jean works at the front desk, scheduling and greeting patients.  She has been our practice for 23 years, and before that worked in a lab manufacturing lenses for eyeglasses.  Jean lives in Marion, IA with her husband, Mark, and their four children, Brian, Dusty, Jessica and Lindsey.

Angie – Patient Coordinator

Angie is our patient coordinator and insurance and billing specialist.  She has ten years experience in the optical field, from making glasses to assisting patient with frame selection and dispensing contact lenses.  Angie was born and raised in Dubuque, IA and moved to Cedar Rapids to attend Kirkwood Community College.  She graduated in 2001 with an Associate of Applied Horse Science Degree.  Angie spends her free time with her husband and two children and working with horses.  Angie enjoys her work because there is a "family-like atmosphere between our eye care team and our patients."  

Erin  – Frame Stylist & Contact Lens Technician

Diane  – Frame Stylist & Contact Lens Technician

Diane has been in the optical profession for 6 years. She has extensive knowledge and experience in frame selection and dispensing. Diane oversees the operations of the lab, specializing in quality control of patients’ eyewear. She assists our doctors with all preliminary testing and, in addition, the special tests for Glaucoma patients, including the GDX Nerve Fiber Analyzer and Visual Fields. She has experience with contact lens design and care, and she assists with Insertion and Removal classes for new contact lens wearers. In her free time she enjoys CR Theatre, flower gardening, and plays golf badly.

Beth – Patient Coordinator

Beth has worked as a Patient Coordinator with our office since 2006, bringing with her several years of experience in office and customer care.  While maintaining the doctors' schedules and other vital documentation, Beth helps provide the comfortable atmosphere patients have come to expect at Cedar Rapids Eye Care; happy to provide any assistance required of her.  In her spare time Beth enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, or putting her creativity to use in her sewing room.  

Kelly  – Frame Stylist & Contact Lens Technician

Kelly joined our practice on a part time basis in 2006 as an optometric assistant.  With several years experience in the field of healthcare and massage therapy, including as an educator, Kelly brings to our team extensive knowledge to assist our patients and doctors with all preliminary eye health and vision testing.  She also performs specialty testing as necessary for our patients with specific eye health conditions. 

                Outside of our office, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at church and in the community.  

Kevin – Frame Stylist & Contact Lens Technician

Kevin joined our practice in 2007 as an optician and contact lens specialist.  He brings over 10 years of experience with him to the practice.  Kevin earned his ABO certification in 2008, demonstrating his desire to serve our patients with the best of his ability.  Kevin is very personable, knowledgeable, and always enjoys serving our patients with great care, as well as a touch of wit and a cheerful sense of humor.  Kevin’s pledge is “to provide patients with excellent service to meet all of their eyewear needs.”

Audrey - Frame Stylist, Contact Lens Technician & Vision Therapist

Audrey joined our practice in 2007 with strong interest in vision therapy. She currently spends her time between our office in Cedar Rapids and our new satellite clinic in Dubuque , where she enjoys her role as a vision therapist. Audrey has had extensive experience in vision therapy, and is currently working towards her certification through the College of Optometry in Vision Development. 

Caryn – Frame Stylist & Contact Lens Technician

Caryn joined our practice in 2008.  She has more than five years experience as a frame stylist and contact lens technician.  She is pursuing her ABO certification this year.  Caryn is a married mother of three sons.  In her spare time she will e rooting on the Iowa Hawkeyes football team, as her youngest son, Keenan is a team member.  Another son of Caryn's, Ceth, is playing for the School of the Canyons in California.  Caryn also enjoys her oldest son, Cedric, and his family, including her only grandchild and joy of her life, 2-year-old Akira.
