Dr. Todd Heying

Optometrist

Dr. Todd Heying is a four-year Presidential Scholar from the Illinois College of Optometry who has never stopped learning about optometry. He began practicing optometry in Cedar Rapids in 1998 and is deeply committed to improving patient health by enhancing their vision.

Dr. Kara Heying, OD, FOVDR

Optometrist

After graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1998, Dr. Kara Heying joined her father’s practice and pioneered optometric vision therapy in Cedar Rapids.

Dr. Ryan Berger

Optometrist

Dr. Ryan Berger was born and raised in Iowa City, where he went on to obtain his bachelors degree at the University of Iowa. He received his doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry where he gained excellent education and clinical experience treating diverse ophthalmic conditions.

Dr. Christine Winter-Rundell, OD, FAAO, FOVDR

Optometrist

Dr. Christine Winter-Rundell joined Cedar Rapids Eye Care and The Children’s Eye Center after graduating from The Southern College of Optometry where she received the Gold Key award for service and community leadership. Her broad professional interests motivated her to become the only doctor in Iowa to complete two post-doctorate fellowships: the prestigious American Academy of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. In addition to working in children’s vision and vision-related learning challenges, Dr. Winter-Rundell enjoys adult primary care, elder care, conducting brain injury assessments, and nutrition counseling for healthy vision and improved overall health.

Dr. Stephanie Schaefer

Optometrist

A native of Davenport, Iowa, Dr. Schaefer has been practicing optometry in Iowa since 2007. She earned her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University. She also completed a residency in cornea and contact lenses at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry.
